Does Buying and Accumulating More and More Stuff Make Us Happier?

Americans love to buy things: tech gadgets, clothing, sneakers, jewelry, you name it. We love to accumulate what we buy too, so it overflows our rooms, closets, garages, basements and yards. And then we throw some of it away and buy more.
But after some point does all this buying and accumulating of stuff truly make us happier? Or does it ever complicate our lives unnecessarily and distract us from what is most important?

  1. of course, all this stuff doesn't make us happier..Shopping is just an instant satisfaction! there are more important things in our life that bring us not only satisfaction but also real happiness!For instant, the strong relationships is what we need now..

  2. I think that people enjoy purchasing things ,either to decorate their places or to feel better with themselves. I think that it is beautiful to buy stuff for our convenience but not overgoing it.

  3. Buying something gives you a few minutes of happiness...but then? You're trying to find the next thing for which you will spend your money, believing that it will make you more happy. I think we will feel better when we understand that all these are only an illusion.
